Search has split. Google still sends most buyers, but a growing share of the decision happens inside an AI answer: Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Gemini. Those answers name a handful of businesses and cite the pages they learned from. A business that only chases Google rankings can rank and still be left out of the answer. The shift is measurable: in SparkToro's 2024 study, 58.5% of US Google searches ended without a click, and ChatGPT alone reached about 900 million weekly users by February 2026 (OpenAI).
So the work covers both. On the technical side: speed, clean structure, structured data and a site search engines can crawl without friction. On the content side: a page for each service and area, written around the questions buyers ask, with facts and prices stated plainly. And off the site: a complete Google Business Profile, consistent listings, and mentions on the directories, publications and industry sites the engines read.
